On May 1,2002, we announced the launch of the Patriot Party of Canada (PPC), the first entirely new federal political party of the 21st century. Something different is needed to bring about a change
which unleashes Canada's true potential
1. We are a strong political, economic and technological nationalists
We favour Sectoral Free Trade, only in those sectors where both countries benefit.
We would re-negotiate NAFTA immediately after forming the government.}
We would also reduce foreign ownership in key sectors of our economy and not permit the World Trade organization(WTO) to dictate Canadian social, economic or environmental policy
2. We promote the home workplace, and the consequent fostering of a world econmic commonwealth of individuals, as an obvious field for Canadian leadership.
With good communications and a lot of space, using advanced technology to help more information workers use the home workplace, makes perfect sense for Canadians.
3 We will transfer (by referendum) most provincial powers to a new super county (zone) level of government, which would deliver most federal, provincial and zone programs at the local level.
Zone Governments would replace current county and regional governments and would use advanced E-Government technology to deliver federal, provincial and zone services locally, slashing billions of dollars now spent for provincial governments and federal field beaurcrats. We would use some of this money to totally revitalize the Canadian Armed Forces and to defend Canadian fisheries on all three coasts.
A new political party requires strict ethics and guidelines.
Government services can be presented in a brand new way, giving more strength to the individual citizen, and better services for language and multiculturalism
Political fundraising and policy-making should be fully independent of the influence of corporate, union or special interest groups.
The PPC believes that Canada CAN take advantage of our strong communications sector to promote the decentralized (home) workplace as a means of national economic and social development.
